Vision of the Seas Ship Review

Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas at night

We sailed aboard Vision of the Seas on a 7-night Mexican Riviera cruise, and this voyage will always be memorable because it was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. Traveling with our extended family, we found Vision to be a comfortable and welcoming ship that offered something for everyone. While it doesn't have the high-tech attractions of Royal Caribbean's newer ships, its classic design, friendly atmosphere, and easy-to-navigate layout made for a wonderful cruise experience.

Dining

Dining on Vision of the Seas follows Royal Caribbean's traditional cruise experience. We enjoyed meals in the Main Dining Room, where the service was attentive and the food was consistently enjoyable. The Windjammer Café offered a wide variety of buffet options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it easy to find something for everyone in our group.

Cabins

We stayed in a Balcony Stateroom, which provided a comfortable place to relax after busy days exploring Mexico. The cabin offered plenty of storage for a week-long cruise, and we especially enjoyed spending time on our private balcony watching the beautiful sunsets and sail aways.

Entertainment

Entertainment featured the traditional Royal Caribbean experience with production shows, live music, comedians, trivia, game shows, and activities throughout the ship. The Centrum served as a central gathering place where guests could enjoy live performances and socialize throughout the day and evening.

Vision of the Seas features a family-friendly main pool along with the adults-only Solarium, offering a quieter space to relax away from the crowds. Whether you wanted to spend time by the pool or simply enjoy the sunshine, there was always a comfortable place to unwind.

Spa

The Vitality Spa provides a full range of massages, facials, salon services, and wellness treatments. It's a relaxing escape after a day in port and a great option for anyone looking to add a little extra pampering to their cruise vacation.

Vision offers several inviting bars and lounges throughout the ship, giving guests plenty of places to enjoy a cocktail, listen to live music, or relax with family and friends. Whether you prefer a lively atmosphere or a quieter lounge, you'll find comfortable spaces to unwind throughout the cruise.

Pros

  • Easy-to-navigate ship that's perfect for relaxing.
  • Great choice for multigenerational family vacations.
  • Friendly crew providing excellent service.
  • Comfortable public spaces with beautiful ocean views.
  • Adults-only Solarium for a quieter retreat.
  • Classic Royal Caribbean cruising experience.

Cons

  • Fewer attractions compared to Royal Caribbean's newer ships.
  • Limited specialty dining options.
  • Older ship with fewer modern features and venues.

Overall Rating: 4.3/5 ⭐

Vision of the Seas is an excellent choice for first-time cruisers, couples, and anyone looking for a traditional cruise experience. It's especially well suited for travelers who value great service, relaxing days at sea, and spending quality time together over high-energy attractions.

Would we sail again? Yes! Vision of the Seas holds a special place in our hearts as our first Royal Caribbean cruise. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of the newest ships, it delivers a relaxing, enjoyable vacation with excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and everything you need for a memorable cruise.
